Most U.S. states can offer a one-of-a-kind honeymoon to fit just about any taste or budget, but classic destinations still make the top of almost everyone’s list. Traditional honeymoon spots can be quite popular at certain times of the year, but newlyweds will make lasting memories despite the crowds, and can always find time and space for a quiet, romantic dinner.
This is one of the traditional honeymoon spots in the United States. Of course, the main attraction is the awesome Niagara Falls, one of the largest and most accessible waterfalls in the world. Here, water from the Great Lakes is funneled to the Atlantic Ocean. Most people are familiar with the Maid of the Mist boat tour, but what about a tour that takes guests down into a gorge in an elevator and then out near the foot of the falls? The Cave of the Winds Tour offers just that. Tourists also pursue golf, hiking and biking during the summer months.

Walt Disney World Resort
Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort rates as another favorite among honeymoon couples. Those planning a trip to Disney World for their honeymoon should contact the park in advance, as it will often make special features available for honeymooning couples that other guests normally can’t access. To help make this process easier, Disney offers a honeymoon adviser and specific website for post-wedding trips. Beyond the characters and thrill rides, Bay Lake, also known as the Seven Seas Lagoon, delivers pleasure boating on personal watercraft and fishing. Or, try horseback riding, water parks, tennis, mini-golf and championship golf courses.

This tiny resort town known for being just outside of the Smoky Mountains National Park attracts visitors from all over the United States, including honeymooners, and draws some top attractions. Visit Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Dollywood in nearby Pigeon Forge and the Ober Gatlinburg ski area, which reflects the town’s “little Switzerland of the United States” label. You’ll also find whitewater rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking nearby.

It may be “Sin City,” but it’s also an ideal place for honeymooners to party. Casinos serve as one of the main attractions, of course, but the area has shows ranging from musicals to magic, and outdoor activities such as hiking, desert sailing, whitewater rafting and the Hoover Dam. Most day-trip vendors will even pick you up at and bring you back to your hotel.
