Located in the southwest part of Puerto Rico, San German was the second city established by the Spanish on the island in 1511. Unlike Puerto Rico’s west coast cities, San German is known more for historical features than beaches. The city is home to a university, Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and its nightlife caters to college students.
