Great Smoky Mountains
For more adventurous couples, the Great Smoky Mountains sit along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. They are home to some of the country’s most popular natural tourist spots with hiking, waterfalls and numerous historic sites. The mountains are one of the largest protected regions in the eastern United States and there’s an abundance of plant and animal life, including an estimated 90,000 undocumented species. Not your average beach getaway, Alaska is home to some of the most rugged terrain in the nation, ideal for adventurous and active travelers.
